The Navajo Division of
Transportation (Navajo DOT) is proud to announce the 2009 Navajo Division of
Transportation Conference scholarships which will be awarded to enrolled
engineering majors college students who are sophomores, juniors and
seniors. The contest will consist of a
one page letter of interest and a four page essay (double space/12 pitch font)
answering two questions:

transportation issues are you aware of on the Navajo Nation?
2. If you were the ultimate decision-maker
for the Navajo Division of Transportation, what would you do to solve these
issues?
Essays should be as specific as
necessary to promote your view(s). The
following criteria will be used to assess the essays:

issue – issue is directly related to the Navajo Nation 25%
2. Realistic
resolution – solution can actually be implemented 35%
3. Innovative
ideas – solutions are unique, using original ideas 25%
4. Writing
ability – mechanical, grammatical, and spelling 15%
